Gran Torino

Wow. This was a great movie. This is probably going to be one of the longer reviews on this site.

First - I am grateful I did not take my mom AND I was not sitting next to anyone of any ethnic decent. You have to have a tough skin for this one, but the thing that surprised me the most was that there actually was a good bit of comedy in this one. I had no idea how many slang names there were for people of Asian descent. Wow! Definitely not a chick flick, but I, yes - I have to admit, started tearing up at the end. Did not establish any eye contact with anyone else in the theatre. I am not going to go to any details, but this movie cativated me from the very start and what an incredible ending. I truly thought I had it figured out, but wasn't even close.

Clint Eastwood. One tough dude. That is all I can say. As he as aged, his looks tougher and tougher. I liked him in his younger movies, but he truly can play a guy with "issues".

If you get a chance to see it, by all means go. LOTS of bad language and some gang violence and probably deserves an R rating, but wow. Having had a 73 Gran Torino growing up, made this even better.
